Hello Dear Reader!

"You have too many thoughts"
-Xander Harris to Willow Rosenberg,  Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Lie to Me"

Much like Willow, I have too many thoughts. A lot them about what I currently watch, read, or listen to. Oftentimes, I say to myself "you should write about this". And then I never do because the dishes need to be done, there's a new Instagram story by *insert celebrity's name here,* or it's almost 11pm and I really should go to bed, or I've been sucked into The Great British Baking Show and I just have to know what the next challenge is...

Well, I've finally decided to create the time and space to reflect and comment on various works in popular culture. (I used to blog a long time ago, but I wanted to start over). One of my goals is to create an ongoing commentary on works I'm currently engaged with (such as what show(s) I'm currently watching on Netflix or the new Taylor Swift album I just listened to) and hopefully create fun but thoughtful conversations about them.  My other goal is that I also want to write about what makes the show, album, or movie relatable to my own life. What can I learn from it? Have I been in a similar situation as the singer or character? Pop culture life parallels if you will.  There may also be an occasional post on a current pop culture topic that isn't related to something I am currently watching, etc. (I have opinions on who should be the next 007...stay tuned for a future post on that).

So that's the blog. Me? I'm Catherine (or Cat, for short) a thirty-something gal living in the midwest. I have loved writing since I was a child. I loved it so much that I grew up to major in English in college and then got my Master's degree in English. I've taught English at the college-level. I write poetry when the inspiration strikes.  And I'm a pop culture aficionado. If it's entertainment or book news, I'm probably reading it.

Alright, so that's my first post! Whew. Thank you for reading and take care-

Cat
